Starts quiet. Raise the level on the PA or monitor, not here. The output level is capped at -15 dBFS RMS to protect speakers and ears. Check your system with a sound level meter and use extreme caution at high levels.

Pink noise: equal energy in every octave. Used to tune a PA with an analyzer.
White noise: equal energy per Hz. Useful for checking hiss and high frequencies.
Sine tone: one frequency at a time. Helps find hum, rattles and resonances.
Log sweep: slides from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Listen for distortion and where the system rolls off.
Polarity pulse: a short positive click. Each speaker cone should move forward.
Channel ID: a 1 kHz tone that alternates left and right, to check wiring.

The generator starts at a low level and is capped at -15 dBFS RMS. Raise the level on your PA or monitors, not here, and be careful with long, loud noise: it can damage speakers and hearing. Keep the volume low when headphones or in-ear monitors are connected.
